DR RAELIA LEW

Dr Raelia Lew is the Medical Director of Women’s Health Melbourne. Dr Raelia is a Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) Board Certified CREI Fertility Specialist, and is President Elect of the Australia and New Zealand Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists and Infertility Specialists(ANZSREI). Dr Raelia Lew is also an active member of the RANZCOG CREI Subspecialty Committee and Host of Knocked Up Podcast.

Dr Raelia Lew graduated from Monash University Medical School with honours in 2004. After gaining experience as a junior doctor at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne and Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Raelia embarked on specialist vocational training as a Gynaecologist and Obstetrician at Sydney’s Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Raelia completed her Masters of Medicine in Reproductive Health Science and Human Genetics at The University of Sydney in 2009 and commenced her PhD in Preconception Health Promotion and Reproductive Genetics.

During her PhD study Dr Raelia also spent time at the University of Cambridge as a visiting research fellow. Here she continued her exploration in Preconception Genetic carrier Screening and applying IVF for the purposes of pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, a field of interest that remains a significant passion.

Once Dr Lew qualified as a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, she undertook 3 further RANZCOG (Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists) accredited years of training to attain Certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) across several clinical settings at different IVF units. CREI is the highest possible post-graduate qualification in the field of IVF and Assisted Reproductive Technologies in Australia and New Zealand, currently held by fewer than 2% of practicing Australian Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Now the Founder and Medical Director of Women’s Health Melbourne, Dr Raelia Lew is a respected industry leader.

Dr Raelia's podcast ‘Knocked Up’ is a safe space for women and couples to share in her modern view on fertility and is a trusted source for the latest information on women’s health. Dr Raelia Lew holds an honorary academic appointment as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne. Raelia is actively involved in medical student and registrar teaching at the University of Melbourne and the Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne.

Raelia’s aim is to empower all women and couples with the best knowledge, education and treatment when it comes to fertility, health and wellbeing.
